This article has given us a typical model, how to carry on case study, how to collect the related information, how to guarantee the information the relatedness and meaningful. Here is the structure of this article under our summarizing. Hope this may be useful for our group task.

Research study: Effective integration of ICT in Singapore schools: Pedagogical and Policy Implications
1. introduce about the theory.
2. Proposes Internal and external contradictions.
3. Identifying the different activity systems
4. Design questionnaire (structures of ETD, schools, and classrooms) and Research questions.
5. How to collect the research data :( Multiple strategies were employed for data collection and analysis: observations of ICT-mediated lessons, interviews with teachers, students, HODs and principal. )
1) A case study approach was adopted to identify the internal and external contradictions and describe how these contradictions were resolved.
2) Taking the activity system of the classroom as the unit of analysis, 15 ICT-mediated lessons were observed.
3)A total of eight interviews were conducted; three with individual teachers, one with the principal, one with the HOD in charge of ICT, and three focus group interviews with students.
4) Taking the activity system of the classroom as the unit of analysis, 15 ICT-mediated lessons were observed.
6. Case study (Rex Primary School)
Helen’s thoughts
Transformation of ICT tools to object of activity systems.
I think it exactly happened in the integration process of ICT into teaching and learning, even in the education reform. For example in mainland china, most teachers don’t have enough knowledge and skills to use ICT well in the class. On the other hand, students might be more competent to use ICT in their study. So the ICT as a new tool need to be learnt for the teachers also for the students.
Internal and external contradictions within and between activity systems
Because of the integration of ICT in education, teachers and students play different roles as before that needs every member in this activity system to adjust the methods of teaching and learning they used to.
Identifying the different activity systems
In the process of integration of ICT in education, the contradictions emerged in different level of activity system. Not only the curriculum and learning resources need to be adjusted, but the professional development especially for teachers need to be planed and arranged in the schedule, which could make a positive contribution to the integration and education reform. However the class has changed from teacher-centered to student-centered, teacher still play a vital role in the process of teaching and learning. And teacher always is the leader of the class.
Research question
Clarify the research question could help the educational researchers to resolve the troubles we encountered in practice. And that could ensure the effective integration.
Rex primary school
This case study shows that this school has successfully resolved the internal contradiction of the activity system. I consider it mainly based on the teacher development. After training, teacher could competent in the using ICT in their class and lead to effective integration.
Dora’s hints
I consider this article as a very good example for conducting a research study. The research design is quite clear and motivated. Many of the methods and ideas would contribute to our group task. I would like to pick them out later and share with you guys.
